Welcome to the Morrisson Reeves Library High Speed Wireless Internet System.  Free access is provided in the AV area of the library basement.  Getting online is quick and simple.  All you need is a wireless enabled laptop computer.

 

Acceptable Use Policy (AUP) Form:

 

  • All users of computers at MRL will need to have an AUP form signed and on file at the AV desk.
  • Users must check in at the AV desk before using the wireless Internet.

 

Hardware requirements:

 

  • A laptop computer
  • Wireless Internet adapter (either IEEE 80.11b or g.) 
  • Note:  Most newer laptops have the wireless adapter built in.

 

Quick Setup Settings:

 

  • DHCP= Obtain an IP address automatically
  • DNS=Obtain DNS server address automatically

 

Limitations:

 

  • This wireless network is not secure and MRL cannot guarantee the safety of your traffic across its wireless network.  The library cannot be responsible for the security of your computer, data, or any files.  Information sent to or from your laptop can be captured by anyone else with a wireless device and appropriate software within up to three hundred feet.

 


How to setup up your laptop computer to use the library T-1 line for Wireless Internet Access.  (Your computer must have a wireless IEEE 802.11b or 802.11g adapter)
