Donations Are Accepted All Year Round

Book Donation Information

The Friends of Morrisson-Reeves Library welcome your donations of books and other items that are in suitable condition for resale at our book sales. The Friends will accept donations of good, gently-used books and other items.  We welcome you to drop off your donated items in the “Little Red Wagon” located in the library’s magazine reading area.  The Friends appreciate your donations, however please remember that if you give us items unsuitable for our sales this will cause extra expense for the Friends to sort through and discard them.

The following items are acceptable:

• Encyclopedias – only complete sets that are dated from 1998 to current date.
• Magazines – not older than two years of current date.
• Travel guides - not older than two years of current date .
• Puzzles and computer games.
• Categories including:  fiction, non-fiction, history, cookbooks, reference, art, how-to, large print books, sports, parenting, classics, text books, trade paper books, religion, philosophy, VCR tapes, audio CDs, DVDs, record albums, children's books, coffee table books, biography, short stories, humor, poetry, science, foreign languages.

The following items are unacceptable:

• Books that have been stored in damp areas (i.e., garages, basements, outdoors) or books riddled with bugs, or that display mold, or are water-damaged, or are covered with dirt
• Medical books including psychology books older than three years of current date
• Paperback books that are torn, tattered, yellowed, have covers missing, pages falling out
• Reader's Digest Condensations
• Sets of books that are out-dated (i.e., science, computers, inventions, etc.)  Publishing date must be within three years of current year
• Textbooks older than three years  

  Proceeds from sales are given to Morrisson-Reeves Library to fund programs, special events and purchases not covered within the library’s annual budget.
