Friends of Morrisson-Reeves Library are very special. We are a nonprofit association of people interested in promoting knowledge and interest in the functions, resources, services and needs of our library. Friends provide time, talents, and funds for services and programs that enrich, educate and entertain the community.

The Friends of MRL generously fund all of the programs offered to library users. They support the Summer Reading Program, book discussions, free computer classes, musical programs, movies, Storytimes and much more.

Membership is open to individuals, businesses, or groups who wish to join in support of Morrisson-Reeves Library. Membership is confirmed upon receipt of dues. Membership dues are tax deductible.

Friends Preview Night - Members of the Friends Group can buy items before the sale opens to the public. Memberships may be purchased at the door.

Book Sale Details

The Book Sale is stocked from local donations and weeded books from the Library's collection. Most items are $1 or less. Cash or Checks accepted  - no credit cards are accepted.

The sales include 7,000 - 10,000 items and the sale is replenished throughout the sale for a good variety of items.

Items for sale are:  Books of all Genres, DVDs, Children's Books, Records, Cassettes, Puzzles, Sheet Music, Magazines and various other items. Special priced Collector's Corner items are typically for sale at the April Book Sale.

Criteria for the Book Sale Dates

The Winter Book Sale will be the second week in February, typically Friday and Saturday.

The Annual Book Sale will be the fourth full week in April, typically Wednesday - Saturday.

The Fall Book Sale will be the fourth week in October, typically Friday and Saturday.

Friends Have Fun!

• Friends enjoy a private preview of the Annual Book Sale.

• Friends share an enthusiasm for services materials and programs.

• Friends enjoy a recognition event in the summer.

• Friends with a family membership or higher are eligible for an annual $1.00 credit for overdue library materials.
