Morrisson-Reeves Library is seeking a creative, forward-thinking individual
that has a passion for engaging teens as well as outreach to teens and
collaboration with organizations and community groups that serve the
The Teen and Reference Services Librarian will focus on developing and
maintaining effective relationships with schools, community groups,
agencies and non-profits that target teens; developing innovative services
and programs that engage the minds and interests of the areaís teens;
facilitating the work and activities of teen volunteers and teen advisory
councils; developing and maintaining the teen collection; providing
reference and readerís advisory assistance to patrons.
The successful candidate has the ability to inspire imagination and
creativity. Also, candidates must have proficient skills in all forms
of communication with a comprehensive knowledge of teen collection development.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to assist with the
creation of a new teen space, planning and implementing new programs
and services, collaborating with teen organizations and groups as well
as fostering strong connections with teens in our community.
The position requires a Masterís Degree in Library Science
from an ALA accredited graduate library school, minimum of two years
public library experience, preferably in a teen services position, a
Public Librarian Certificate 3 (LC3) or the ability to obtain LC3 within
the first six months in the position and a valid driverís license.
