July 23 - August 4, 2008

Back to School time is upon us, and it’s important to remember that not all students will be able to start the year with all the school supplies necessary for a successful learning experience.  Children can’t learn effectively if they don’t have paper and pencils.  Tools for Schools is a community effort to collect school supplies for distribution in Richmond elementary schools to those students who may need some help with affording basic school supplies.

The drive is being conducted in partnership with Wayne County Vision. 100% of donations go to local students. We run our program with volunteers with absolutely no overhead costs.

From July 23 - August 4, 2008 drop boxes will be set up in the lobbies of:

  • Morrisson-Reeves Library - 80 North Sixth Street

  • First Bank Richmond - Eastside Branch at 3403 East Main Street

  • First Bank Richmond - Northside Branch at 2499 Chester Blvd.

  • First Bank Richmond - Main Office at 20 North 9th Street

  • G 101.3 Studios - 2301 West Main Street

The following items are being collected:

  • Crayons – 24 count box

  • School Scissors – large and small

  • Glue – 4 oz. liquid school glue or glue sticks
