1966 First appearance of Morrisson-Reeves Library's bookmobile
1968 Explosion levels downtown and kills 41 people
1969 Municipal Building dedicated
1970 Frank Sinatra and Jerry Lewis perform a benefit at Civic Hall to benefit the children of former police chief Dan Mitrione.

1975 Current Morrisson-Reeves Library opens
